When I was reading the scripture it grabbed my attention how Jesus let them know He was present and not to worry and Peter knowing Jesus still says 'Lord if it is really you then tell me to come to you on the water' and Jesus without likely a pause between that says 'come', and we know then Peter takes a step out then becomes afraid and sinks and asks the Lord to save him and immediately Jesus does! So many years I did that, questioned Jesus, I have said 'Lord if this is really you, if you really want this for me then prove it to me, show me, etc!' And He does reveal Himself to me and I would still doubt! Why do we do that?! I want to continue to stay focused on Jesus and not look to the right or the left! When a car is out of alignment it tends to pull to the right or the left and if not corrected it will worsen and even cause an accident and it also begins to effect other parts of the vehicle which then becomes costly. I want to be in alignment with Jesus, focused on Him, fearless!

Thank you pastor Bryon for this notes. Although we are taking notes sometimes we miss a sentence or reference. This is very helpful. You made a quick reference to a bible verse in 1rst Corinthians at the end of the sermon. We missed the location. All of us! Can you believe it? We were all asking what was that final verse? Could you please provide it to us. Thank you and God bless you! Angie

Great post, Pastor Arlena! And so true! It just goes to prove once again that we are the Body of Christ, with each member contributing to the well-being of the whole.

When I am at a Life Group meeting, I can better see not only the bigger picture but also I can better see myself in that picture. And that truly makes a difference in my life.

Blessings,

Dr. MaryAnn

Francis Schaefer's writings helped shape my early Christian walk, so I was happy to see your quote. I think one reason people are reluctant to participate in "authentic community" is that they have difficulty finding their place in the Body. Some are more adventurous and volunteer for church activities that do not align with God's purpose for them in the Body. As a result, they go full steam for a while but then get frustrated and drop out of community.

Finding and filling one's place in the Body of Christ is key to authentic community. My prayer is that each person who attends Kingsway will find that place so that our Body can funtion the way our Lord intends it to function.

Blessings,

Dr. MaryAnn

Thanks, Jen, for this powerful post. You are right in pointing out that everything we have received from the hand of God is undeserved by us and only an expression of His infinite grace, mercy, and love. The Body of Christ in America has not suffered as many of our brothers and sisters have suffered around the world. We take our blessings for granted, a very dangerous habit, with dire consequences.

I thank God for people like you who are sounding the clarion call. May the Body of Christ in America become passionate for Christ and His Kingdom!

Blessings,

Dr. MaryAnn

Thank you, Evelyn, for your post. You make a very important point, I think, in showing us that we must not rely on our emotions but on our faith in God. Emotions are, indeed, like roller-coasters. They trick us, trip us, and trap us. Only a steadfast faith in God, as you imply, can hold us steady during those "roller-coaster" times.

Blessings to you! :)
