Great post, Pastor Arlena! And so true! It just goes to prove once again that we are the Body of Christ, with each member contributing to the well-being of the whole.

When I am at a Life Group meeting, I can better see not only the bigger picture but also I can better see myself in that picture. And that truly makes a difference in my life.

Francis Schaefer’s writings helped shape my early Christian walk, so I was happy to see your quote. I think one reason people are reluctant to participate in “authentic community” is that they have difficulty finding their place in the Body. Some are more adventurous and volunteer for church activities that do not align with God’s purpose for them in the Body. As a result, they go full steam for a while but then get frustrated and drop out of community.

Finding and filling one’s place in the Body of Christ is key to authentic community. My prayer is that each person who attends Kingsway will find that place so that our Body can funtion the way our Lord intends it to function.

Thanks, Jen, for this powerful post. You are right in pointing out that everything we have received from the hand of God is undeserved by us and only an expression of His infinite grace, mercy, and love. The Body of Christ in America has not suffered as many of our brothers and sisters have suffered around the world. We take our blessings for granted, a very dangerous habit, with dire consequences.

I thank God for people like you who are sounding the clarion call. May the Body of Christ in America become passionate for Christ and His Kingdom!

Thank you, Evelyn, for your post. You make a very important point, I think, in showing us that we must not rely on our emotions but on our faith in God. Emotions are, indeed, like roller-coasters. They trick us, trip us, and trap us. Only a steadfast faith in God, as you imply, can hold us steady during those “roller-coaster” times.
